Creating a Focal Point: A Tip For Large Event Space Planning...
Kristjan Gavin with In Good Company, Meetings & Events recently provided us with a great tip for those of you planning special events in large spaces...
“When working with a large event space, one of the most important things you can do to create a more inviting, intimate look and feel for attendees is to create a focal point in the center of the room. First, having a place to focus visually helps break up the size of the space and makes it look much less intimidating. Second, it gives attendees something to talk about – an ice breaker, if you will. You can get creative by using something already onsite, or one of my favorites – using one colossal floral arrangement instead of having many small arrangements scattered around the room. And of course, it goes without saying – be sure that your focal point, room, accessories and table linens all work together to achieve aesthetic balance and don’t compete with each other. If you do all this, you’ll create a warm, welcoming environment for your attendees.”
